The history of the Jack 'O' lantern

 

Yesterday the 31 of October we had our Halloween and also celebrated our teacher's birthday, Miss Costello. It was fun. She gave us four activities and so we did them. It was really enjoyable and fun at the same time. One of my favourite activities was the Jack 'O' lantern, or as I call it ,the mandarin lanterns because it was a mandarin and we use sharpies to draw spooky faces to make it look like a Jack 'O' lantern. The original jack-o'-lanterns were carved from turnips, But the Jack the one who made the Jack 'O' lantern founded that carving a pumpkin  is easier. He created it and put it around his farm and all sorts of places to scare of the evil spirits. And it worked!
